Protecting the Public: Supporting the Police to Succeed

New White Paper sets out measures to make the police more accountable to the public and deliver significant cost savings by working better in partnership, improving efficiency and standardising procurement.

The White Paper's programme includes:

• supporting the public and meeting their expectations
• protecting the public
• strengthening accountability
• continuing to cut bureaucracy
• boosting police productivity through working smarter.
