Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Registration and Login

Why do I need to register?
Users register with TISonline so that when you log on, we can provide access to the correct information streams according to your subscription. Registering also allows you to tailor your access online, for example, by signing up for alerts.

I have already registered on another IPF website. Can I use these login details for TISonline?
Yes, if you have registered with one IPF website, you can use the same details to log in to any of the others. However, you will only gain access to the full content if you have subscribed to that service.

I have forgotten my password
Just click on Login/Register in the top right hand corner of the screen, and click on ‘Forgotten Password’ when the login box appears. You will be asked to enter your email address and provide the answer to your security question. Your password will then be emailed to you. If you have forgotten the answer to your security question email tis@ipf.co.uk.

Why do I need a security question?
If you contact TIS for assistance your security question allows us to verify that you are a registered user. You should choose something that no-one else knows the answer to, and something you can easily remember.

Does my organisation have a single login name and password?
No, each member of your organisation must register separately so that they can tailor their personal online preferences, such as instant emails.

How can I change my password?
Go to My Profile at the top of the page and follow the instructions.

Where do I sign up for instant emails and the monthly e-alert?
You can click on the link on the TIS homepage or go to My Profile at the top of the page and click on the relevant link to sign up for TIS alerts. You can also change your preferences here at any time.

I have registered but I can’t log in.
If you have registered successfully and received your password, but you are unable to login:
  • check that you are entering the correct email address and password with no mistakes (extra spaces, hyphens, letters etc)
  • do not rely on Windows auto-complete as this may be using the incorrect details
  • make sure that you are logging in with the email address that you registered with, and the password you were sent (or your new password if you have changed it)
  • cut and paste the password from the original email into the login box.
If you still experience difficulties, contact tis@ipf.co.uk.

Do I have to log in each time I visit?
If you tick the ‘remember me on this computer’ option when you log in, you will remain logged in unless you click on Log Off, or do not visit the website for 30 days.

Can I log in from any PC or laptop?
Yes, your subscription allows you to log in from any computer with internet access. Just go to www.tisonline.net and log in as normal.

What happens if my details change?
You can change your name, address, email address and password by clicking on My Profile at the top of the page. If you are a contributor you should also inform your editor. Your access may change if you move to another organisation.
