TISonline (Technical Information Service online) is CIPFA's online resource providing 30+ information streams of best practice, guidance, commentary and legislative context for financial managers across the public services.

Compiled and maintained by contributors drawn from all parts of the public sector on a 'by practitioners, for practitioners' basis, TISonline supports managers at all levels in their everyday activities, as well as underpinning professional development for a range of disciplines and professions.

The service was launched by CIPFA in 1967 and became an established and invaluable reference source for practitioners and all those with an interest in financial management across the public services. It has been available online since 2003.

TISonline information streams cover the full range of financial and service functions of local authorities and other public service bodies. They are supported by regular news updates, monthly e-alerts, personalised instant emails to let users know when guidance is updated, and active Discussion Forums.

To access TISonline, users must register to receive a password which they then use with their email address to log on to the website. Registration is free and is open to all, and certain areas of the website, including the discussion forums, are accessible to all registered users. However, access to the content of TISonline information streams is restricted to users from subscribing organisations.

A subscription to TISonline provides multi-user organisation wide access. This means that anyone in the subscribing organisation can use the service, from any PC with internet access. Each user must register individually, and will receive their own unique password.

When users log on they are granted access to the information streams according to the level of subscription held by their organisation. A subscription can cover individual information streams or the full TISonline service (30+ streams). The subscription year runs from 1 April to 31 March, with pro rata rates available for part year joiners. For current subscription rates see Subscription Packages.
